Good News!

Lots of great news for Little Tree!  We have been accepted into the Saturday morning Southside Farmers' Market on Everhart just past Holly!!!  Yahoo!  Now you can come see us weekly at 2 locations and monthly at ArtWalk!

Speaking of ArtWalk - tonight is ArtWalk!  I know it is still November, but this is actually the December ArtWalk.  Come on out and support local business by buying some holiday items at the many talented craftspeople's booths.  We will be on Peoples Street with our Apothecary products.  Hope to see you there!

Harvest!

Well, I certainly did not think it would take this long to get back to the blog!   Lots of family stuff for the holidays and now it is harvest time!

I have tons of tomatoes and green beans and greens of all kinds.  The lettuces are especially lovely.  I recently found out that if you wait 3 days to eat "fresh" picked lettuce the bitter taste goes away.  It is caused by a hormone that needs those days to dissipate in the leaves.  Now we have absolutely lovely table greens!

I also have new pumpkin butter body whip and lotion and am finishing up some Thyme-Mint-Chamomile Scrub.  I loved making up the Pumpkin Pie Spice, Candy Cane, and Holiday Yummies body products.

Check out my new page - I am posting recipes, links, and other resources!

Lots of NEW stuff!  My table is absolutely covered in home remedies, bath bombs, creams, body butters, scrubs, hair treatments and lip balms.

Some are soothing to help you recover from the weather or the holiday rush and some are energizing and brightening to help you look and feel your best this time of the year.
Come see me at the Downtown Farmers' Market tonight.  Hours have been changed to 4:30 to 6:30.

I will also have red and green tomatoes, an assortment of herbs, some cucumbers, green beans, and assorted peppers.

We would love to see you there!

And DON"T FORGET! Saturday is the Southside Farmers' Market Craft Fair.  We will have all of our products available and you can order more for gifts and such!  The Market is on Everhart just past Holly Road.

Whoo!  It has been a while since I posted anything and there is a ton to share.  Look for a lot of posts in the next few days as I catch up and give you a peek at the coming weeks.

First, I am heartbroken over the loss of our flock.  It only takes a moment . . . but we were able to get 12 new babies so off we go on another chicken raising adventure.  We have 4 Rhode Island Reds, 4 Barred Rocks, and - new this time - 4 Black Australorps.

Now, the garden is under attack - again - I have had to spray (sigh) and though it is organic, I feel like I lost some integrity there.  I have lost almost all the napa, spinach, lettuce, and collards to caterpillars and flea beetles.  The tomatoes, however, are taking the garden OVER!  They are enormous and are pulling their cages out of the ground.  I am definitely investing in the giant galvanized cages in February!  I cannot wait for these guys to be ready to eat!

As far as Yggdrasil Creations is going, we are discontinuing jewelry except for leather and bead bracelets to concentrate on the apothecary - lotions and potions galore.  More about that tomorrow!
